5 month old baby raped.

There was a child born to a poor couple in South America, (can't remember the exact location), and they loved her very much, but they were soooo poor. Then one day, after the baby girl was about 5 months old, a man offered them $10,000. The couple was thrilled. But there was just one catch...

In order to recieve the money, they had to all this man to have sexual intercourse with their baby. Now, to most of us, I dare say, this would absolutely be out of the question, but after much deliberation, the couple decided that the baby would never remember and they would be much better off. This was a great great deal of money to them. They left the baby with the man for the evening and he raped this 5 month old helpless little girl again and again. Where was God? Watching? Beside her? Christians always say God is watching and is always beside you. I am just curious, not trying to stir anything up.

This is a true story, although I am absolutely certain of the exact age of the baby, but I did remember that the baby couldn't sit up yet.I am not exactly sure of the money amount, but if my memory serves me correctly, it was only $10,000.  It appeared on Oprah a couple of years ago, and it disturbed me so devastatingly, that I have never forgotten it. I have been searching for the article about this, but I have had no luck yet, so if you know where I can find it, let me know or if you remember this Oprah episode, and remember more details, come forth. I know that it featured Ricky Martin. He was the one telling the story.

My Faith in God?

These are the types of things that actually helped me to continue on the path of not believing in God. Everytime something wonderful happens, it is God, but why does he bless some and leave others? And not just non-believers, but also the innocent, like this 5 month old baby girl?
