On September 21, 2006 I stood in the bathroom and looked down a the positive pregnancy test.  I couldn't believe it my heart soared and everything I had wanted was all there.  I told my fiance and he was estatic just like me, and so began the 9th month wait for our long awaited baby.

Month by month we prepared and planned the arrival of what was undoubtably the most exciting time in either of our lives.  We love going to the doctor each month and seeing the ultrasound of our baby moving, the heartbeat growing strong.  Each month was the same, "Your baby looks healthy and great."

At sixteen weeks we encountered our first surprise late that night I started bleeding.  We paniced and drove to the ER after three hours of tests, ultrasounds and exams the doctors said me and the baby were fine and that there was nothing to worry about.  After that we had no problems for months and we could barely wait for the nine months to be up.  After four months of waiting we went to the doctor, the ultrasound revealed we were having a beautiful boy.  We were thrilled.

On  March 19th I was sleeping in bed only to wake up and find my water had broke 11 weeks to early.  Once in the labor and delivery ward I was placed on fetal monitors and bed rest.  They wanted to do everything they could to prevent my baby from being born early.  Everyday was one day better for him.  At four in the morning a recieved my first shot of Serfactin a hormone to help mature his lungs.  At six the began treating me with Maginesium Sulfate to stop labor.   That was the most horrendous time in the week I spent.  My skin burned and I was constantly nautious and for the next two days I remember very little.  The next night I was given my second dose of Serfactin and moved to a different room to wait as long as possible.

It turns out that my little guy would only wait a week before he decided that he wanted out.  At 5:30 in the morning on March 25, 2007 my contractions started.  I didn't wake up my fiance or tell my nurse that I was having pains until about 8:15.  My nurse got the portable contraction monitor and after three hours of consistant pains I was moved back to delivery.  I sat there for four hours before they decided that I wasn't progressing enough but it wasn't stopping either.  So at 5:10 I was ordered on pitocen and to be given my epidural.   The finally arrived at 6:30 and put in the epi. and at the same time started the petocin.  By 7 had a dialated a centimeter and was having strong contractions.  The nurse checked me and estimated that i would give birth around midnight.

At 7:50 I was checked agian the nurse looked up at me and my fiance and said.  Your son is already down and I can see his head.  Your going to be having your baby in less then twenty minutes.  Excitment, panic, fear and worry all came over me but I was determined to be strong.  The doctor arrived and we got ready.  They had a team of intensive care nurses waiting by to bring my small arrival into the world.  After 6 pushes and heavy contractions my baby was out.  He was rushed to be checked before I even cought a glance.  Fear like none I've ever fealt passed over me.  After what seemed like ages I heard my baby was going to be okay.   One quick kiss and away he went.  He would go on to spend 6 weeks in intensive care.

He is truely my little miracle
