I think you should ask him, when you will be able to call him your husband. I lived with someone for 8 yrs. I asked him to leave.  After he moved he asked me to marry him... Just a bit late!!!  I used to call him my lover.   "Good Luck"   BELOVED A-HOLE has a nice RING to it!
