Thank You Daddy

On March 30, 2006 my Father passed away due to cancer.  I miss him very much and wish every day that he was here with me but I know in my heart he is here and watching over me from up above. This is a poem that I wrote in memory for Dad on Sunday March 30, 2008. Let me know what you all think of it. It's called

 "Thank You Daddy"

When I’m alone in my room

Sometimes I stare at the wall

And reminise about you,

The love you had for us all.

As the days go by, Oh so rapidly,

My thoughts of you fill me with pride.

I am thankful for the things you’ve done for me

And for the life you taught me to provide.

Because of you I am who I am today,

The stronger fighter, the lover,

The mother I became.

Thank you Daddy, for all your love,

Thank you Daddy, for your courage,

Thank you Daddy, for not giving up

Thank you Daddy, for protection, from up above.

That is beautiful. I am sorry for your loss. I lost my mom in 2003, and I also wrote a poem for her. I gave it to her before she died. To this day I can not find it, and I have been through her entire room. Your love for your dad definately rings in your poem.
