Men and women can't just be friends?

Why can't men and women just be friends without other people reading into it?  This guy at my work I've developed a great friendship with.  I don't have a lot of friends, because I don't trust people that easily.  Well he emails me today to let me know the newest rumor going around is that I'm IN LOVE with him.  What?  He said that people razz him wondering how his girlfriend is...referring to me.  We are both married!  Why can't I just have a good friend that is a guy???

Apr. 1, 2008 at 5:25 PM People can't believe that b/c it never happens.  People always think that we should have friends that are the same sex as us.  Don't worry about them.  As long as you guys and your spouses knows you're good friends that is what matters the most.  I had a good friend in H.S. and we're still friends till this day but in H.S. was sooooo different.  We used to get razzed alllllll the time.  No one would believe us that  we're just friends.

I am 59 years and I always had men friends. My husband was understanding we have been married for 41 years. Don't let other people get to you. They just know that they could not have a man friend . They could not trust there self. good luck

Apr. 1, 2008 at 5:35 PM I'll help you out with this one. You should make your friendship low key at work. I know it is not fair but it'll save both of you the aggravation. most companies frown upon relationships. I know you're just friends but people like to gossip and form their own opinions. As for me the rumors flying around about my husband and a woman at work were true. People shouldn't judge but they do. sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between the truth and a rumor. My advice is just cool it at work.

Men assume if a chick is your friend youre "doin her". Women assume whatever the rumor mill tells them =)
Ive always gotten along better with men. Alot of women do.
Ive had that rumor goin around many times about me before.......Screw it! As long as you kno the truth.
