You know what I love? I love a day to myself in my own home. The kids are at school, husbands at work, and I have the day off with nothing scheduled to do, and to make it even better its raining outside, so I can do nothing and not feel guilty about it. If it was sunny i'd feel obligated to at-least for a walk you see.
I spent the day cleaning out drawers, you know I mean really cleaning out draws. Dumping those junk piles on to the floor and making big wonderful piles of "Keep" "Throw Away" and "What the hell is this?". Going through my kids closet and toy chest and making all those toys that just seem to serve no purpose, are broken, never worked, or just plain ridiculous disappear.
I watered the plants, dusted the shelves, swept the floor, vacuumed the rug and watched all my juicy gossipy day time tv shows with out having anyone once walk in the room and say "what are you watching? I want to watch cartoons" or interrupt my deep interest of who slept with who on my favorite soap opera so that they could get something to eat.
Its all done, put away, cleaned up, dusted and organized, and now I will sit on my couch wrapped up in my favorite blanket and watch Steel Magnolia with my cat napping on my lap and sigh in happiness and soak up the moment, because i know in a few hours the boys will be home (including my husband) and well... its back to the daily grind.
Exhale......
