It finally happened. Of course today was the day that I kept hitting snooze on the alarm. I jumped in the shower, like everyday, but this time I don't have a baby clinging to me....thank goodness he's still sleeping. When I get out, I hear Joe saying, "What is this?? Oh, no...dammit!" I quickly don my towel, and run in the baby's room. Lucian sitting there so proud of his textured masterpiece. Strategically swiped on the crib railing, sheets, and the 4 blankets, was SHIT! Lucian looks up at us, smiling through his binki which is also covered, wonders why we aren't praising him for his artistic ability. Daddy, who is gagging, runs a bath with the little hot water left. And of course mommy gets to scrub everything that the putrid substance might have touched. It wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. It must have happened hours before I even heard my alarm, It was dried! Then I realized there wasn't any IN his diaper, the only clean place was where the shit was supposed to be. Being the Wonder Woman that every mom is, I had everything scrubbed, in the washer, and new sheets on the bed, before baby was out of the bath.

This makes me commiserate for all mothers everywhere. When ever we finally have a few moments to ourselves, it gets thrown in our face, sometimes literally. Although, we are "Mommy", the refuge they seek, the forgiving comrade, the sun on the darkest of days. I would take a million poopy cribs, just to see the admiring gaze of my beautiful, blue eyed boy. Through all the cranky days with never ending tantrums, the food fights with the cats, and the "mommy you can't put me down, the floor is lava!!", I can honestly say, with all of my heart, I LOVE BEING A MOM!!!

When I was a little girl I got into some wood stain (I don't know how) and painted my moms bedroom, my bed, myself. My mom still has those pictures!

I hope my kids never see the pictures of mommy til they are older! LOL

I agree with you 100%, I love being a mommy. Even through all of the poop, puke, fights, and tantrums. My 3 boys keep me on my toes. And I love it that way.
