Whats in the Box??? *UPDATE!*

A couple of weeks ago, I received a box on my porch. It was a white box, with flowers drawn all over the outside, and it was addressed to me. OOh!!!
I ran to the dining table with my white, flowery package, and set the box down. Then, I ran into the kitchen, grabbed a steak knife, ran back to the dining table, and cut the box open.
Its been less than a year since being diagnosed with cancer. I was 33 years old when some Dr. in Valencia started in with foreign terminology and sympathetic nods. I remember like it was yesterday. I see the whole thing now, the same way I saw it then. From the OUTSIDE-IN. I checked out when he said Cancer, and I swear, I was standing to the side, watching this event happen to me. I see it like a one act play in my mind.
I took out a pink t-shirt...
then a purple and white water bottle, a purple and white coffee mug....
another t-shirt, pom-poms!! (What are we cheering for???)
And one final shirt..a purple one.
This is what we're cheering for. I get it.
I am a SURVIVOR.
WHO SENT THE BOX?
An angel did...

See, its not actually whats IN THE BOX that matters...
What matters is this:
Melissa Dewitt, Coloradomom30, had a teacher in the 6th grade named Lanai Wallin. She wasn't just a teacher many years ago, she also became a beloved, long term friend. Unfortunately, Mrs. Wallin was diagnosed with Melanoma Skin Cancer which mastised, and sadly, lost her battle just 5 years ago. Just four days before she passed though, Melissa made a promise to devote herself to finding a cure. For the last 4 years, she has done just that. As the chair person for her local Relay For Life, she has helped to raise, more than.....

Her goal this year is to personally raise $5,000.00 for Cancer Research...wont you help her?
If we can find 5,000 people who have been effected by Cancer would each give just $1.00 each, Melissa would reach her goal. AND SHE WILL!!!
My sole purpose right now is to support a Mother who supports her community, and I'm asking for you to PLEASE offer her your support to her, too. The Relay for Life event will bring us THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS in the research necessary to find a CURE...
And bring HOPE
to Cancer Survivors, and loved onesleft behind by those who lost their battle to this vicious disease.
We have a future to protect...I want my children to grow up in a world where people come together to raise awareness, and find answers. Genetically, being a Cancer Survivor myself, it's imperative that I have answers for my children. I need to be part of the solution, I have a responsibility to act, and to support those who are leading the way.

I am hoping to fly to Colorado this Summer to participate with Melissa, but in the event I am unable to do that, I WILL BE WITH HER IN her heart...so will Mrs. Wallin, and many other friends whom Melissa has met along the way...her journey is remarkable, and her dedication is worth a standing ovation.

Melissa, thank you form the bottom of my heart for all you do for Cancer Research through the American Cancer Society, and for honoring me this year.
I was blessed with an angel when I found you...You have such Divine purpose and amazing spirit.

awww...that is soo cool of her to send that stuff to you..my old job, we use to walk Relay for life, I would have to walk at 2a.m. cause no one else would do it.. It was so much fun. Chris did it with me one year!! I miss doing it..but now I am walking for Vincenzo in the March of Dimes
