I found out in January that my Grandma B has breast cancer. They put her on a medicine that was supposed to help slow it down and give her some more time since she is refusing surgery. She is 95 and afraid of anesthesia, Can you blame her? I can't. well this medicine isn't helping at all. Her tumors have grown and they are keeping her on the med for 3 more months hoping it might turn around. Well the side effects of this medicine are horrible. It causes balance troubles and blood sugar problems and blood pressure problems and arthritic like pains and it goes on and on like that. Well being that she is 95 she already has balance problems and arthritic type pain and blood sugar problems being she is diabetic. Wonderful drug she is taking to help and its not. This is so unfair. My gran would do anything she could for anyone she could. She volunteered at a senior center for ever and may still be doing it when she is up to it health wise. She started in her 70's because she was bored and most of the ppl she helps at the senior center was 10-30 years younger then her. Its so not fair that this wonderful, kind loving woman should have to deal with this when she should be relaxing and enjoying the end of her life. I wish I could take this from her and make her life so much easier. In a younger person who could tolerate more agressive treatments this type of breast cancer has a higher cure rate. I just wish it wasn't her. My Grandma doesn't deserve this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
