Apr. 10, 2008 at 10:43 AM We banked my daughter's cord blood when she was born last December. We chose to use the Cord Blood Registry located in Tucson. Had my daughter not been born with a birth defect (Spina Bifida) I probably would have just donated it to a public blood bank, but because new research is always coming out exciting results, we wanted to have our bases covered in case something can be done to help our daughter in the future. I highly believe in the research done with adult stem cells and would recommend you at least donate your cord blood to a public bank if you do not choose to go with a private bank.

Apr. 10, 2008 at 9:56 PM  banked with Viacord.  I did alot of research before I ended up picking them.  They had all the things that I wanted in a company.  They also had a payment plan, baby gift registry, and terrific customer service.  This was such an important decision that I wanted all the facts.  I just started a group for this check it out.  I will get you any info that you want.  I will send you a message with more info.

Before you consider cord blood banking, be sure to research all your options with different banks. Check out http://parentsguidecordblood.org/ or www.FamilyCordBloodServices.com for more information!
