Today is one of those days when I really hate my job!!

I work in the IT department of the Services squadron at LRAFB and from day one our current commander has hated us! He will tell us he wants something done a particular way and we will do it, then he will turn around and say that we did it wrong. Now, because everyone in the squadron knows he doesn't like IT, they will use that to their advantage. Marketing, for instance. They have a few, various issues right now involving the network, access to certain web sites, etc. They will call us, say what the issue is, and we will do our part to get the issue resolved. Usually this involves getting the Help Desk to work on it. But once we turn the issue to HD, it is out of our control. If the HD doesn't get the issue resolved right away, marketing will go to the commander and complain, instead of communicating with us on what is taking so long, or even taking their complaints up the chain which is what they are supposed to do! So, the commander will turn around and jump all over us because he was fed a load of BS and tell us we need to go down to marketing and get things done. This afternoon a coworker and I went down to marketing (like we were told) and the entire time the ladies down there were all nicey-nicey to our faces.

To make things worse, our own flight chief, who just came back from three years in Europe, feels the same way about us as the commander! He had a staff meeting with the flight and one of the things he said was he will not tolerate any gossip. Then later that same day, he came down to our office and had a closed door with my supervisor and mentioned some things that he has "heard"! Excuse me, but doesn't that classify as gossip?! Of course, my supervisor being the way he is (take crap from NO ONE!), he threw this right back in the flight chief's face!

I absolutely hate working where we don't get any support from our supervisors outside the office! On very rare occasions we will get a pat on the back, a "nice job" or a "thank you", but believe me, they don't come nearly often enough!
