The contradictions that are in organized religion bother me the most. They contradict themselves constantly, and it bothers me. What turns me off from bible-following religions is, well, the bible.

The bible bothers me for a few reasons. One is that it's been translated how many times now? Even if it was the truth at one point, it would have been twisted and changed so much by now that it would be nowhere near the original. Then there's the fact that through the years, some things have been taken out of it, and other newer things have been added in. IMO, that should REALLY bother people. Then, of course there's the contradictions in it. Like how God created every one of us and loves us all, but he also knows all the names of all the people that will burn in Hell. Okies....so if God loves us, why does he create some of us if he KNOWS we're going to end up in Hell? Doesn't sound very loving to me, really.
Oops, accidentally hit submit before I was done.
As for all non-bible following religions, they usually have some contradictions, too. Either that, or they're too weird to believe, which is also a big turnoff for me.
Sorry if this wasn't the place for this rant.....just figured I'd explain what erked me about religion.
It has to be the people, mostly. But I think it's more ME than it is THEM. I have a hard time with people, so when someone is vehement with their views, or insistant, or "knows" that they are right and can't consider the other person's feelings or views on the religion it turns me off. Jesus can take my questioning, criticism and feelings and still love me as I love Him. He can't be undermined as the Son of God by questions or criticism. I am as secure in my faith as I know you are, and I think that's most important to Him so I worship Him in my best way, which is without religion.
