I sure do! I don't go by it as much anymore except with childhood friends and family......

 When my mom was pregnant with me, her dad decided that I was going to be called Jake. I was probably in kindergarten before I knew that my name was really Jessica. But I went by Jake all through school, everyone called me that, my teachers, friends and family.

I got to college and thought "Now I can go by Jessica all the time". It's how I introduced myself and thought I was making progress...hahahaha. All it took was one weekend that my friends from home came up and it was over! My college friends picked it up and I was Jake all through college too! I never really minded being called Jake. I actually kinda liked it, it made me different and I graduated with 7 other Jessicas. The change was nice.

Now I go by Jessica or Jess...never Jessie..just not my thing! When I started my current job almost 8 years ago I started going by Jessica. I just feel it is more professional and of course feminine.

Apr. 14, 2008 at 11:25 PM Hi there. Yes, I do have a nickname. It is Lolo. When my niece (who is 22 now) was a little girl she couldn't say Lori so she called me Lolo. Everyone calls me Lolo around here and up at the school. I coach cheerleading and all of the girls and parents call me Lolo or Lo. My mom and dad think that my name is Lolo too! I don't mind it at all actually. I think if someone around here called me Lori I am not sure if I would answer them because I wouldn't know that they were talking to me. One of my friends said the other day that when Kayla has her baby the baby would call me Granny Lolo. Not sure about that one!!!

I actually do have a nick name..two of them...well three... Mookie which is what I have been called all my life and Mari, which was given to me by my little brother who couldn't say Samara... so that name stuck... everyone calls me  Mari excepet my older relatives who thinks that Mookie is actually my name... I also go by Tweety Pie... given to me by my co-workers bcuz I am a Tweety fan...  Nick names are cool!  Yours is really cool!
