Last night Kalten wouldn't go to sleep. His afternoon nap was cut short, so he napped a little in the evening, and then was just not ready when I was. I pulled his ABC book off the headboard and started to read to him. I noticed that as I would read the next letter, his eyes would move to it. So I started asking him questions, like "can you touch the clown?" And he DID! I know he's never seen a clown in real life, or a kite, or a hen, fox, mouse, or violin, but he knew all those and more!

This morning I brought him and the book to my parents' house. We were going out of town for a paydate so I was putting the carseat in my parents' car because DH was taking ours to the dealer to get fixed. My mom started looking at the book with Kalten, and not only could he point to the pictues, but he could point to many of the letters, too! Even more amazing, you can point to some of the letters, and he will tell you what they are! He knows A, B, F, I, M, N, and O. He may know others but he's hard to understand.

At 13, almost 14 months, this is pretty big stuff!
