Aaaack! Another autism journal! :-)
I got frustrated and angry a few days ago, with all the negative comments (from both sides) and when I found myself cringing, I stopped reading the journals all together. Yesterday, I started looking at them again, and while there were still some snarky comments, I also saw a lot of wonderful women taking time out of their lives to give their support.
And I started wondering....
Has anyone thank you ladies yet? Did I miss a post that told you how much your positive thoughts and kind words were appreciated?
Cause if not, I'm here to do it now.
Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart!
The fact that people out there have listened, that our voices are actually reaching someone, means more than I can say.
lol I have to go now before I start crying.

This should be a popular post! You are one of the most wonderful person I have ever met, Rachel! I have put a shortcut on my page (not that that is very busy, but.....) and hopefully everyone will see it!

Thank you for this post. I was hesitant joining some of these autism groups because I do not have a child with autism, HOWEVER, I do feel called and have a passion for sharing autism awareness. I have worked the past 8 years as an Instructional Aide with students of various challenges, but those with autism has especially won over my heart. They are truly inspirations to me every day. For the past year, I have been doing my best "in my little world" to spread the news about autism, the challenges and behaviors it presents and how wonderful & unique each individual with autism is. I work with students who are diagnosed with "severe autism" and they are such inspirations to me. It just takes looking at life from a different perspective and admiring the challenges that they overcome to see what amazing individuals these kids are.
I see promoting autism awareness as an ongoing activity and I seem to get the word out in almost every conversation that I have with people.

In the meantime, thank you to all the moms who have welcomed me with open arms into these various CafeMom groups online.
