Anyone remember the good old sitcom called Sanford and Son? I feel as though that is who my husband is.

We only have a one car garage and it's bursting at the seams and the over flow is flowing into what I call my space. Which is my back yard. In this little one car garage my husband has an old 72 Ford Pinto. Yes you read that right, a Ford Pinto. You know the car that would actually blow up because of where the gas tank was placed in those cars. He is rebuilding it. He actually wants to race that thing at our local raceway. He's even went as far as welding row cages into that thing. Not only do we have an old busted up Pinto in that garage we have, a lawnmower,an air compressor,a huge snow-blower,welding equipment, some sort of grinding tool that takes up way to much space. He has tools upon tools and tool boxes, cardboard boxes with tools in them, car seats and not the ones that children sit in,actual seats from a vehicle ,bikes, helmets, balls of all sorts, soccer, football, baseballs and basketballs. Hockey nets, hockey sticks, skate board ramps and grind ramps for skateboarding,an old dirt bike,2 snowmobiles. The third snowmobile is outside of the garage along with the boat, 2 bikes ,riding lawn mower and god knows what else because there is just no room in that garage for all of that JUNK! Oh and the trailer for our snowmobiles is on our front lawn. I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton of stuff, there is so much I can't possibly name it all or even remember half of it.

I want my yard back. It has taken nine long years to get this yard to look halfway decent. I have planted flower beds, vegetable gardens, got rid of the weed that was once called our lawn. I have pain stakingly made our yard one of my projects since buying this home. Now he's cluttering it up with all of his junk!

Anyone else married to a Fred Sanford?

My ex gets that way around furniture. I have 4 couches in my house. They all fit but a couple of days ago someone was saying that someone else they knew was trying to get rid of some old couches and a king size bed. I have all the beds I need for my two bedroom house. I have my queen size bed and the crib in the baby's room. I have a twin size bed in the shed and the head board for a king size that matches the dresser in my baby's room out there too. I looked at him and said, "Exactly where I am I going to put any of that?" He says, "We can move that bed in your room out and put it in there." I paid $700 for the frame/mattress/and matching dresser less than four years ago. I am not going to just throw it out to put a used bed in my room. Lost his ever loving mind. I still can't get him to let me throw away the recliner he got from his aunts house that is so far beyond broken that it's not safe to sit in. And although very comfy the couch his friend gave us is so old and worn out it's not even funny. Pack rat for real.

Do you have room to build a shed?
My dh gets mad when I put "garage" stuff into the garage. He wants it to be neat (plus it's got his weight bench in there so he can work out).  However - I don't want stuff that can go in the garage IN THE HOUSE.  Which is worse - a messy garage, or a messy house?

I'll take a snow mobile off your hands, LOL.

Wyldb...

We do have lots of room for a shed. In order to do that we would have to take down and move the pool. The typical lot space in LakeView is 40 by 120 and we have two of those so we have 80 by 120. The thing is to actually put up a shed we have to go through the town and ask permission and pay for the permit to do so. Not a bad thing but a PITA and it's only a shed. It's not like we would be building a garage.

Right now next to the garage hubby has it all dug up. We are waiting on stone and concrete to actually build a patio of sorts. Only problem with that is getting a cement truck in our yard. If a cement truck rolls down our driveway which is cement it will seriously damage it. Right now we are debating the best way to actually get the cement back there. With that patio thing next to the garage we can put the snowmobiles there in the summer and the boat there in the winter which will free up some space in the garage. A good thing, because I'm tired of bruising my shins and legs just walking through there. Whatever he chooses it can't happen fast enough. I want my yard back.
