i have to agree with you i know a man who caught his son being a peeping tom. the boy was 14 looking in a his 16 year old neighbor girl getting undressed. when the day caught him the boy lost his privileges to the computer, tv, video games, going to the movies, you name it the boy lost it. well the boy got in touch with an attorney and started to file suit against his father for cruel and unusually punishment. the father was told by the attorney to return the items to his son or they would go to court. the father then told the attorney what his son did. and the attorney dropped the case.

what kind of world do we live in when a kid can sue or attempt to sue a parent for punishing them. you can't even spank a child anymore. i was spanked when i was growing up. it was never out of anger and they let me know why i was getting spanked for. but when the whole spanking is child abuse nuts come on the scene parents can't spank a child because they get reported to cps. you can't discipline a child any more because of the way the laws are set up. the government needs to back out of how to discipline a child. and worry about those that are really abuse victims.

One of the reasons most the kids i'm around are respectful and wellbehvaed is they are homeschoolers. They are not taught morals by the government but by their parents. at least, that is what I attribute it to.

 

Cruel and unsual?? my 14 yr old doesn't even own a cellphone or playstation or gameboy or his own laptop/comuter.

I get what your saying....before I judge the kid I look at the parent. I've been working in youth outreach 11yrs and I've seen it all kids in gangs,prostitues,young mothers of 5 at 17,I've even lost many of my students to violence. Kids are just that....kids and they are a product of their environment. I also believe that they have their own minds and there is freedom of choice but sadly alot of the students I've come across don't know/feel that. They don't know the free world beyond their block and it's been a both a blessing and a curse to show them. So many of mine were so close to getting out only to die so young. Sorry this turned into a vent. Tuff day at work.
