I KNOW SOME MUSIC IS HARAM , BUT I NOT SURE , I DONT THINK THAT SOME MUSIC IS WRONG,  I DID NOT SEE WERE IN THE QURAN THAT IT DO NOT SAY YOU CANT LESSON TO MUSIC, EVEN YUSUF ISLAM SAID  THAT YOU CAN LESSON BUT YOU HAVE TO WATCH  THE WORDS IN THE SONG . Islam Yusef follows the Sufi sect, they are upon alot of misguidance.. for instance they dance on graves,listen to music,  they visit graves, they elevate thier shieks, they perform acts of worhsip that were not prescribed by Allah (subhana wa'tala) nor the Prophet (Sallalahu alayhi Wa Salam).  It would serve you good to read up on them. You can visit spubs.com, troid.com, madeenah.com for  more information on them.   There are people who claim that Anasheed is acceptable.. however again it is a form of praising Allah which Allah did not prescribe. You can also look at salafi  moms , look up the word nasheeds or anasheeds or music or sufi. you can also go to muslim coverts.com and look at it there too just click onthe search post on t he left hand side.

 Many people listen to music because they believe it sounds pretty.. and it does.. however, it is vain talk, idle talk...it waste time and distracts the person from worship. How can listening to music be good when we were told that it comes from Shaitan. Shaitan beautifies things for us and we think they are good but he simply wants to lead us to the fire. The Prophet (Sallalahu Alayhi Wa Asalam) left us all the clarity we needed in terms of defining the Quran.  The Quran speaks of us wasting our time, and it says that by time men are at loss.  

there are ahadiths that speak to the haram of music.  you will find them when you search the posts.

There are many muslims that listen to music..especially the newer muslims and those muslims that follow misguided shieks, imams and thier own vain desires but worse off..they follow everything the disbeleivers do because they have yet to let go completely of t his world.. Do they not reflect. Allah has promised those who follow them.. a severe punishment.

 Music is haram.. just because muslims listen to it.. doesn't make it halal. They will  have to answer to Allah.. all of us will.

The duff is the only instrument that is permitted and that is only for the use of Women during weddings... however people overstep the boundaries... because they do not Fear Allah ....and they do not fear Allah because of poor understanding not because t hey don't want to... and because Shaitan is there always whispering, beautifying things.

also, see what the knowledgable shieks said regarding music.. Uthaymeen, ibn Baz, Albaani, ibn tamiyah, (rahim Allah)...See what Al Fawzan says about it.

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH,  I THANK YOU SISTERS FOR YOUR COMMENTS , I WILL CHECK IT OUT ,  I OLNY LESSON TO MUSIC WHEN I AM ON MY PERIOD AND CANT TOUGHT THE QURAN, OR WHEN I GET IN A BAD MOOD , THEN I DO MY HOUSE WORK  WITH IN AN HOUR ,  BUT I DONT ALL WAYS LESSON TO IT , BUT I THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME KNOW , OR WHEN I GET REALY BORD, AND MY HUSBAND IS OFF WITH HIS FIRENDS FOR 4 TO 8 HOURS AT A TIME . AND JUST ME HERE BY MY SLEF, I REALY WANT TO DO ALLAHS WAYS  THE BEST THAT I CAN . AND I HAVE GROWN UP WITH THE MUSIC  BEFORE I CAME MUSILM. Ayat

"And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing) to mislead (men) from the path of Allaah without knowledge, and takes it (the path of Allaah, or the Verses of the Qur'aan) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell‑fire)"
[Luqmaan 31:6]

 

Hadith Regarding music

It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Two sounds are accursed in this world and the hereafter: a sound(of musical instrument)s in time of happiness and sound (of wailing) during calamity." sawtin 7inda ni3mad was sawtin inda museebah,
narrated by al-Bazzaar and its narrators are thiqaat (trustworthy); it was classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa'l-Tarheeb (3527)
