God gave me a revelation about the Old Testament Laws today. in a group i'm in someone said that it amazwed her that christians who say the law is done away with is used when they sometimes make a point. well automatically matt 5:17 came to mind. Jesus said He did not come to do away with the law but to fulfill it. there were very sevear consequences for anyone who broke the law. by living by the law they were showing an outward commitment to God. and the punishment was outward as well. when Jesus came on the scene He made it known that it wasn't the rituals but the heart behind it. the law is more or less the guidelines to follow, but it's our heart and intentions that God judges. you still need Jesus to be saved, but the law is showing the things that are important and should be worked on like good hygiene, healthy diet, family connections, time together, good marriages. if you actually read the all the laws you see that it is a guide to live healthy happy lives., but a lot of people focus on the punishments and make it negative. putting ink in your body can poison the body, not to mention that at the time they were using material from courpses for ink. pork is a pretty unhealthy meat to eat. really study and look at it. it will say something completely different. i was amazed when i finally saw all this. the law is still important to our lives and spiritual lives, because many of what the law states affects our spirits too. it's about taking care of your temple. isn't God awseome!

The cool thing about the law is that with God in our lives we can hope to live by it through Him. Also if you are interested in a biblical diet (really lifestyle change and guide to healthy eating) look into "The Maker's Diet" by Jordan S. Rubin. It's amazing. Unfortunately i'm not super motivated but i did do the diet for a couple weeks and even that made me feel 100% better (and i didn't even think i felt bad before i started).

Just the other day my husband and I were talking about same thing, how many of the things in the old testament were to help people with their health. God is awesome!

Did you know that there were over 600 laws to follow? I'm reminded of a scripture in the NT....to the pure, all things are pure. (Titus 1:15).....
Anyway, it's awesome that you are desiring to listen!!!! When we are leaning in to God, we will surely hear Him! : )
