**Logan is finally here** (my labor story)

I finally had my baby boy!!  My due date was March 23, 2006 ... well I made to my next dr. appt on the 26...he checked and unfortunately I hadn't made any more progress since the last visit.  I was disappointed a little but we talked and he asked me what I wanted to do.  He said that since I was a good patient *L* that he would allow me to decide if I wanted to wait on him or be induced within the week.  So, I decided to be induced because I honestly felt at this point that he wasn't coming any time soon.  Well, he called the hospital and they said I could come on over that night at 8:00...  OMG I was going to meet my baby within the next day or so is all I could think.  So, I went home and cleaned a little and tried to prepare myself for what was about to happen.  That night at 8:00 I went in, they got me in a room and they inserted cervadil by 9:30 that night.  They said they were going to let it stay in for 12 hours...we got a good nights sleep that night with a few contractions here and there but nothing that I could really time.  Well, the next morning at about 8:00 I woke up and went to pee...my cervadil came out...so I called the nurse and she was like that's ok, that just means things are going to progress a little faster now.  Well, about 9:00 the nurse came in and checked and I had progressed a little bit more than what I had been at the dr. office so she broke my water and started the pitocin.  Once she did that it was on! *L*  My contractions started coming and coming hard.  They were tolerable however, so my mom and my husband were taking turns coming in the room and then going back out the waiting room with a few ppl that had made it there.  About 10:30 my contractions started getting pretty bad so I asked for Stadol...they brought that and once it got in my system I felt like I was so doped up and it didn't even really help...it finally wore off about 11:30 but my contractions were HORRIBLE..I was pouring sweat and felt like I was going to tear my husbands hand off...I tolerated them as long as I could and about 12:30 I told them I couldn't take it anymore and I gave in to the epidural.  My contractions weren't going away they would just get really strong then come down and linger in the 50's and 60's then go right back up.  As soon as the administered the epidural and I layed back on the bed I felt a ton of pressure in my lower region.  My mom called the nurse back in the room and she checked me and I had dialated to a 9.  From the time I sat up on the side of the bed to get the epi to laying back down I dialated from a 2 to a 9.  I kept telling her I had to go to the bathroom and she was like no you don't that's pressure the baby is moving down and I was like no I have to go to the bathroom so she checked again.  She told me my baby was right there and I would be ready to push in about 5 minutes.  She was right ...just a few minutes later I knew it was time to push..they unhooked the pitocin and called the doctor.  When he got there I had already been pushing for about 5-10 minutes...My epidural never had enough time to work...I could feel everything and I was actually so thankful because that's really what I wanted but I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to handle it.  Once I started pushing though, that's all I could think about was I am fixing to meet my little boy.  I pushed for 45 minutes and he was born at 1:35 that afternoon.  I didn't tear or anything...it was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced in my life.  When he came out they layed him on my stomach and I fell in love with him all over again...I lost it of course..I knew I would.  He was 7 lbs. 13 oz and 22 inches long.  He is beautiful and worth every little bit of pain.  His daddy is so proud, I think he might of cried more than I did!  *hehe*  But, we came home that Saturday and everything is great!!
