the dishes are piled in the sink. there are uniforms to be ironed, general laundering of clothing to finish. the floor is begging to be swept. the dog wants a wash, brush, and walk. the car could use a thorough vacuuming. the whole house needs a touch-up of paint. there are leaves to be raked, bulbs to be planted, weeding and trimming to be done in the back yard.
and where am i? where am i, ladies?
for the first time since tuesday of last week, that would be tuesday, 8 april 2008 (i think...too tired to care, really) my feet are up. for no other reason than to have feet up. i am not driving anywhere. i am not sitting at a table eating a meal. i am not blogging quickly in between paying bills, preparing for meetings, and fixing meals. my ass is hanging in a hammock listening to the kids play and the traffic pass me by. i have nowhere to be for more than 13 hours. i am barefoot in a sundress enjoying my first break of free time in 11 days. the weather is slightly breezy, sunny, warm, and perfect.
halle-freakin-llujah for half days of school in spring time. now if i could just stop the sneezing and itchy nose.....
i think i´ll have a nap.

i want a hammock. but with the summers as short as they are...it's still chilly at Memorial Day... it's just no use. i would never get to just lie there and enjoy it. there's always SO much to do. therefore, i will live vicariously through you in your hammock enjoyment.
