You know, I won't pretend to be unbiased; I'll admit, I prefer Sen. Obama. However, I don't hate Hillary Clinton. In fact, I'll even vote for her if she wins the nomination. I want to be clear on this, because I don't want to get accused of an unstated bias, like George Stephanopolous.
The debate Wednesday night was a disgrace. Not because it was unbalanced, though I thought it seemed to be, but because it was petty.
Bitter? Rev. Wright? Bosnia? A FLAGPIN?!?!?!? You've got to be kidding me. Neither candidate's time was well spent with this drivel. And it certainly did our mass media no credit.
But I was particularly disappointed in the American electorate. Obama supporters going on about how their candidate was unfairly picked on, while the Hillary camp accused Obama of whining. Yet no one complained about the absolute uselessness of the debate or the fact that a media outlet that can't bring itself to question the Bush adminstration but can spend ten minutes on a FLAGPIN.
How does that make sense? Is it just me? A free and unbalanced media is supposed to protect us against gross misuse of power, not commit it. That's what comes of making news a billion dollar industry, marked by corporate greed.
