Silly Question.. what am i doing wrong

ok ladies I love this site but never seem to be able to chat with any one all i seem to do is read (thank goodess I like reading .. yet everyone here seems to have people to chat and e-mail too. I am in a couple grou[s which no one seems to chat in or ever be up in the middle of the night. like i am ( work 2nd shift.)but check into the site several times a dday and night. so what am i doing wrong. love to make new friends.. how do i find out whats going on without joining thousands of groups?????
