It amazes me how the shortest of moments can bring you back to where you first felt those butterflies in your stomach. Why do we hold on to the bitter moments and forget the beautiful ones? A few minutes of horse play w/my hubby makes me believe in what we created, in what we wanted. Alot has been lost but how much more can we get to replace what was lost? We can gain a new trust, a new hope, build a new dream. We can tweak our future by combinig the past with the present to make a new future. When you're living in the hardest of times you gotta take the unexpected short surpises and hold on to them and build around them. You gotta try to stop taking things and people for granted. you have to realize we're not promised tomorrow.Take life one day at a time and remeber the moments that caused you greatest pain and weigh that against the moments that caused you the biggest smiles, the hardest laugh which one feels right?
There is a legend about a bird which sings just once in its life, more sweetly than any other creature on the face of the earth. From the moment it leaves the nest it searches for a thorn tree, and does not rest until it has found one. Then, singing among the savage branches, it impales itself upon the longest, sharpest spine. And, dying, it rises above its own agony to out-carol the lark and the nightingale. One superlative song, existence the price. But the whole world stills to listen, and God in His heaven smiles. For the best is only bought at the price of great pain... or so says the legend...
The Thorn BirdsDoesn't this sum it all up?
