In the world of scrapbooking some people choose to scraplift.  Scraplifting, for those of you who don't know, is 'taking someones idea/layout/design' and claiming it as your own.  Some people, like myself, don't mind of others scraplift, but find it especially polite if you ask first.  It just seems like the right thing to do.

I was wondering how some of you ladies would feel if somone you were 'acquainted' with .... took 'key words' from your journal and coined them as theirs?  Even took some of the ideas that were your own .... and you knew they did it.

How would you feel?  Would you ignore it?  Confront them?  Dismiss it as a bad experience?

I have such a person that has done this to me  .... on their website.  They have taken ideas/concepts and thoughts that were mine.  I can't give specific details just yet .... this individual does not know that I am aware of her theft.

Am I just being awful or should I be mad?  This isn't a one time thing either.

Apr. 20, 2008 at 1:50 AM I would be mad if someone passed the idea off as their own, and I would probably confront them.  I have scraplifted many ideas over the course of my scrapbooking, but I have never taken credit for those ideas.  When people tell me 'what a great page' or 'that is a cute idea', I always fess up and say 'I got it from the internet, Creating Keepsakes, Two Peas, etc'.  And if it is someone you know who wants to use your idea, then common courtesy would dictate that they ask if you mind!  I do not blame you one bit for being upset... I would be too.  Hope you get it resolved.

Apr. 20, 2008 at 12:14 PM Thanks..... I that helps a lot.  I hate to act out of anger, but by golly she's got me mad.  This individual has been sneaking around behind my back (and a friend of mines) stealing designs, layouts, ideas and copying them on a new place that they just created.  She's even stolen a word I recently used !  I know ... a word!  BIG DEAL!  But it feels like identity theft because this word is NOT a common word.  I used this word in a layout and in my blog and suddenly after I posted it .... boom!  The words on her site!  Its just not right!
