I posted this in the ADHD group also, but it makes it real to see it so I'm sticking it in my journal as well. We finally had the appointment with the behavioral pediatrician for Jordan's developmental testing that we have been waiting on for 6 months. This is the down-and-dirty diagnosis and information that we were given today.
My little guy has Sensory Integration Disorder, and a general Disruptive Behavior Disorder. Because of his aggression and impulsiveness he is a danger to himself and others (sounds much worse than he actually is). She (the Dr) said he is at risk for ADHD which will more than likely be officially diagnosed after he starts school, and PDD-NOS which she hopes to rule out with further evaluations. She said for insurance purposes she is diagnosing ADHD combined type. We pretty much agree with everything. This is quite a lot to take in all at once, although nothing really comes as a surprise. Still, I'm a little overwhelmed. Tomorrow we start the hunt for therapists, tonight I'm just mommy to my active little boy.
