Today the Angels cried softly right along with me.
They knew that you courted death just to be pain free.
As it became a constant in this life you see.
Suffering came each day and would not let you be.
The Lord watched you every hour, as you fought alone.
He knew just what he had to do, to take your spirit home.
While you tried to sleep that night, I heard you softly moan.
As your heart just gave out, you traveled home alone.
I saw your spirit leave, moving toward a light.
Rising with a fluid grace, it was a peaceful sight.
The body left on the bed, a testament to all.
When the heart knows our Lord, the spirit hears His call.
I wrote this poem for anyone who has lost someone in this life. If it just helps ease one persons sorrow it will have made a difference. I do have the copyright to it so please do not use or copy it without getting permission from me in writing.
Comments:
Oh Leila, the anniversary of my mom's death was on the 20th and of course the day is full of grief for me, it matters not how long it has been. This poem is beautiful, and eases some of the pain. May I copy it for another friend whose mother passed away on the 27th of this month? I hope she would take as much comfort from it as I did. Thank you for sharing your awesome talent with us, and I look forward to hearing back from you regarding copying this~~
Darla
DDarla, yes you can copy this poem for a friend as long as you add my name somewhere on it. Thanks for the kind words. Leila
