I was reading a post of childhood memories and to tell you the truth I miss my Aunt. When I was eleven she passed away. She was forty.
This woman made my life pleasant when ever I was with her no matter where we were at. I love her.
Heck my daughter is named after her!
My Aunt was a breast cancer survivor. She had thirteen miscarriages before having her first of three children, do to some physical ailments.
I was her Goddaughter! I was the only child allowed to lay on her new water bed.
The last time I saw her was in Kentucky. The summers were hot, and at night still hot but, almost kind of damp?. I miss the sound of the box fan rattling on the wooden chair at night as I lay in bed with my cousins and little sister. All of us were girls.
None of this stopped me from trying to hide my liver under my mashed potatoes though!!! I was caught!
The neighbors had a pool. My Aunt and Uncles' camper was parked in the back yard. My cousins taught us how to climb the ladder to the top of the camper roof and grab a thick tree branch to swing over the neighbor's gate right into the pool!
My sister and I used to run around this crab apple tree. Don't ask why! We were eleven and six.
Across the street used to be this little store that had mini burgers. We ate those things up.
And during that same summer a tornado was predicted. My cousin and I were sent into the back yard to take laundry off of the clothes line. So it did not blow away! Then we had to go to this church to wait out the tornado in the basement!
Just one other thing I liked was no matter how much taller I was than my Aunt she still told my sister and I to sit on her lap. At this time she nic -named me Love-bug. My sister's I can not mention because for her that is a private memory. Not bad, just what she has left!
I love this lady so much! My Aunt. To me she is a true example!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
