We knew we had to water at 5 in the morning but still chose to stay up watching an old John Wayne movie -- cute story... but didn't get to bed until midnight.

Hubby got up at 4:30 to get dressed for the cold morning of irrigating and i snuggled deeper into the blankets, curled up in a tight ball.  It felt so good!  but, i couldn't go back to sleep, i felt guilty that Dan had to do all the work and he was just as tired, if not more, than me! So, i got up and tried to take pictures of the water coming in -- too dark yet.

Luckily I got dressed and found Dan -- we had forgotten to clean out the inlets at our neighbor's field (we use his field for the horses and replowed/disked/planted his field too --just forgot the water needs a way in.)   I grabbed a shovel and ran down the ditch to help dig out the dirt.  Finally, success!              Our field was watering so fast, it was wonderful and exciting.  It used to take us all day (upwards of 8 hours or so) to water and now with the field leveled and just seeded, it was only taking 1 1/2 hours!  Awesome!  it was so exciting we took pictures as the sun rose.  Our place looked like it was in the middle of a lake -- cool!  Neighbor's field also watered fairly fast and then it was time to make breakfast -- eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, home-made syrup, and coffee.  (store-bought hashbrowns but i forgot to buy syrup!)

Meanwhile, a friend called, "Does Dan still want to canoe down the river?"   Yes, he did.  We got everyone ready (I can't go in a canoe with the baby so i get to drive)  Let them out in Los Lunas and 3 1/2 hours later, pick them up in Belen -- 10 miles of river canoeing -- it is so much fun!   And, no, I didn't get anything done while they were gone, i read emails, read/responded to posts and held a sweet baby girl -- she was very needy since she woke up early with the barking dogs (they didn't know what all the activity was about!)  she also didn't have anyone to keep her occupied.....so, i fooled around.

After picking every one up, unloading all the gear and canoes, I ran into Los lunas to do a quick job and visit the great Wally-world.  Dan called me, "What time do i have music practice and will you get home in time for me to get there?"   Great!! now after slowly cruising around, i raced to get home so he could take off -- only the 8 and 4 year olds at home, no one to babysit until i got there.

So, home, throw pizza's in the oven -- cause i don't want to cook!  and now time to relax and watch one of my all-time favorite movies "The Game"  you can only really watch it once and then it is ruined for you, but it is always one i recommend -- haven't seen it for over 10 yrs probably.

Church tomorrow -- "Isn't He good, isn't He good, hasn't He done all He said He would?..."  Thank you Jesus for giving us a great week!
