The gate. The useless, pointless gate.

Little bit was naughty this weekend. So naughty, in fact, that mommy needed a time-out to cool her not so contained temper.

So mommy, in a state of delusion, put a baby gate in Little Bit's doorway. Then mommy stuck Little Bit in her room and ordered the child to play.

Then mommy- still suffering from her delusions- walked away.

Mommy went to the living room and began a vent here on CafeMom. Then mommy heard a sound. Delusions evaporating, mommy went to investigate.

And mommy saw Little Bit standing near her gate, glaring at it. As mommy watched, Little Bit took a step back and lifted one foot. Then Little Bit planted one solid kick to the gate. She kicked it clear out of the doorway, mafia thug style.

As if that weren't enough, Little Bit then proceeded to STRUT out of her room and give mommy a look that clearly said "What, punk? You think you can stop me? You can't stop me."

Mommy is just a wee bit scared of the future.

The future is easy compared with toddlerhood (so far).

LOL! I love your post! I sooo know what you  have just gone thru, I also have gone thru that!  gates dont work in my house either, its just another challenge that Jaden LOVES to  beat! And he is good at it. Even the few times he has flipped over the gate  and fallin on his back, he gets right back up again and tries to go over the other way! crazy kids! good luck :)

Ohhhhh!  I hope my 10 mo isn't ever so brave.  If she is, she'll be falling down 14 steps to a hard linoleum bottom.

That was cute. :)

LOL! Travis goes in his room behind a gate for time-outs... I had to replace the standard baby-gate with an extra-strong 4-ft-high doggie gate. Because he could climb over the little puny gate in 2 seconds.  He never tried to kick it over though... LOL that's pretty funny!  Anyways, I got the large gate at Petsmart. It works great! Definitely a good investment. :)
