so i am trying the 3 day method. except that i put i put him in a pull up for naps and at night. this is the third day. its 5:30 pm and he has had 5 1/2 changes of underwear. (the half was when he started to poop) he was dry after his nap today so i am going to be brave and try without a pull up tomorrow. he still won't tell me before hand that he has to go. just when he dribbles a little in his underwear he says "oh no!" and we ask him and rush him to the potty. just today he has actually been finishing in the potty. we give him a treat and lots of applause and high fives when he does go. he finally pooped this morning. that is a going to be a hurdle for us. he is very reluctant to poop on the potty. he was starting to go and just wanted to go into the corner and go. but we got him on and he did both in the potty. i'm debating just going for the whole thing and not putting him in a pull up tonight. we just didn't start out with the "readiness" test of being dry through the night and he is pretty attached to his sippy cup of water by his bed. yesterday was really hard. i really wanted to quit. i spent like 2 hours just bawling last night after i put him to bed. probably some preggo hormones but still it was tough. so towards the end of three days i in no way consider him potty trained but he is working on it. dry for longer and longer and actually finishing in the potty. does anyone have any tips for getting him to tell me before he goes? i ask him often but he always says "not anymore!"  or any encouragement or tips in general would be so helpful. if you made it this far, thanks for reading!!!

May. 1, 2008 at 1:09 PM well sounds like he is ready for it and he is making process. I am potty training my son and it seemed to start out that way. This is week 3 and he is now at the point where he is telling us when he has to go about 75% of the time. He grabs himself and says "eeeww" lol. Thats when I know to take him to the potty. I don't know why he won't say "pee, pee" or something more bathroom related, lol. I know it is soooo time consuming and so much easier in diapers but now when I think about putting him in diapers I feel like he is too old for it. Don't give up and it sounds like he is well on his way to being potty trained! There will also be days where he does better then others too!

I see that your son is about the same age as mine. Mine was born in April 2006. He knows everything about going potty he just won't go, he sits on it, likes to flush the toliet but won't use it. Have any ideas, i see your son is doing good.
