GOING VEGETARIAN?

I am not really sure what is going on with my appetite lately but I have decided to stop eating meat. If there is anyone reading this that does not eat any meat could you give me some advice on what I should add to my diet to replace vitamins I might be missing. Maybe its my age I am 45 now ... some foods just do not hold the same appeal as they use to..... Thanks for taking the time to stop by my page:)

Wow!  You are even younger than me! LOL!  I'm 49.....and yet I STILL think of grandmothers as "older" lmao!  Ok, vegetarian.......I stopped eating meat (beef, chicken, pork, turkey, etc.) when I was 18.  And unfortunately, I am probably the most ignorant "vegetarian" on the planet!  My DH is a meat & potatoes guy.....hard to cook half and half....he thinks anything except mac & cheese (homemade, btw) and tuna casserole that is "vegetarian" must be tasteless & nothing but tofu and carrots! Plus, he is NOT one to try new things......he likes what he likes and that's what he likes! So, I'm taking up your comment space only to say "I can't help" ..... only wish I could!  But there HAS to be a veggie group here........one thing I DO know is that tofu is VERY versatile.....basically has no taste of its own and picks up the flavor of what you put it with....and the soy is supposed to be great for you.

Sorry I can't help more.....but I know you'll find plenty of resources....and good for you for going meatless!!

Momof...
I am 47 and I do this from time to time.  Good substitutes for meat are of course dried beans, I will take pinto beans and put them in the food processor with chopped tomatoes, black olives, onion, seasonings, anything that sounds good, and make sandwich spread.  I am not a "vegitarian" as I usually go back on meat eventually.  Another favorite recipe is cottage cheese, eggs, and onion soup mix, baked and covered with brown gravy.
