Someone help me with these things!

The package reads to plant these things in doors 4 to 6 weeks before the last spring frost – WHEN IS THAT?
Why doesn’t it give a date? UGH.
I took the girls outside on that warm day we had last week, we plant the pretty seeds (I think Treasure eat one – hope not). Anyway, the things are growing out of control! At this rate I’m going to have to transplant my seedlings into bigger pots before I transplant my seedlings into the ground.

I don’t have a green thumb as you may have guessed by this post. I purchased those little plant pots that you plant pot and all. I got the cheapest organic potting soil I could find at WalMart, because I assumed nothing would actually grow! Now I have pumpkin plants and sunflowers on my sun porch that are out growing their little pots. The sun flowers started to sprout the SAME DAY! I’m not kidding! We planted the seeds in the morning, devastated them with enough water for the entire season and before I put the kids to bed my 3 year old saw a little green thing popping up out of the mud. The directions said 7 to 14 days - not 7 to 14 hours. I need to look up the definition of “germinate” again.

So what do I do now? The packages read that harvest time is 110 days at this rate I’ll be harvesting pumpkins by noon tomorrow. Can I put them in the ground now? Should I transplant the little biodegradable pots into bigger biodegradable pots?
Does anyone want the left over seeds? I have half a package of Peas (– wait their not doing as well), 15 tomato seeds, half a pack of green beans, 2 half packs of sweet peas (1 zig zag, 1 Burpees Mix) and a pack and a half of pumpkin – this is what happens when you let children under the age of 3 pick out the seeds.

I have no idea why these things are still alive. Every day we drowned the stupid things, we pick at them, they’ve fallen from their shelf a dozen times, we pray for them every night at bed time BEFORE Nana and Papa and somehow, only by the grace of God are they still growing. I figured by now they’d be dead, chucked and forgotten, but now I’m actually going to have to plant them.

I hope this post made you laugh, please help me.

LOL!  So maybe you DO have a green thumb afterall!  You're not a garden fairy are you?!  I don't really know anything about pumpkins, but I could have told you that the sunflowers would grow out of control.  They always do.  They were originally a type of wild flower until someone realized you could plant the seeds.  You can usually switch them to the ground about a week after you plant them in the starter pots.  When you plant them in the ground - only dig a hole that is as big as that starter pot.  Nothing less, nothing more.  Many people make this mistake.  Make sure that the ground is moist (not a pool).  An extra hint:  Water them early in the morning (before the sun is highest) & late in the evening (after the sun goes down).  DO NOT  water them in the middle of the afternoon!  My Mother tells me that this can make them go into a shock of sorts.  Good Luck!
