Juggling College and Family

To be a full time mother, wife, and college student is extremely time consuming. Family time is really important, most of all, boding time with my children. For instance, my children enjoy playing outside when the weather permits; they enjoy bath time and reading a book or two before bed. Of course, dinnertime is a real nice bonding time my family has as well. With my children being so young, we enjoy watching them learn about new foods and the words that go along with them. It also allows my husband and I to reflect the day’s events. Even so, the day is not complete without chores. There are many things that must be done throughout the day, such as, laundry, dusting vacuuming, preparing meals, and the dishes. Along with the three classes a week that have homework and studying, in which take a lot of time all in there own. However, eventually one must take some personal time to relax and reflect and of course get some beauty sleep. Ultimately, as a mother, wife, and full time student time is very limited, yet every moment is well worth it.

May. 7, 2008 at 10:50 AM I was reading your post and wanted to let you know that although things probably won't get easier balancing all this, it will  be worth it in the end. I was working full time and taking 4 night classes when I became pregnant with my first child. I finished out the semseter about to pop and was so exhausted. I could not go back to night classes after the baby was born, because I was already driving 40 minutes to school in the afternoon and my husband worked shift work. So with the expense that  a new baby brings and the shift work my husband does, it was just impossible. I did start taking classes online, thinking this would make things  a little easier. Well, I was working full time, taking care of a newborn and taking a full load at school. Even though I was taking classes online, they were still as demanding. The only difference was, I could log in at night when everyone else went to bed. I did finish my Bachelors Degree in Oct 06. It was a lot of hard work and I worried I was missing out on so much with my child. I realize now, I didn't miss anything and he is a very happy and healthy child.

Thanks, It is really hard, I do get discouraged from time to time, but like you said it is really worth it. I know that my kids have a great role model and that means the world to me. plus I get to have a career that actually will pay $ to support my babies.
