I seriously think I may go crazy in the near future. The combination of this pregnancy, being stuck in the house, and CONSTANTLY seeing/hearing The Wiggles EVERY second of the day is really beginning to take its toll on me.
I think I may be developing a small crush on Anthony (the blue Wiggle). How sad is it that I actually see these crazy Australians more often than my own husband? It's become a constant over here. We are either watching the DVD's, listening to the CD, or playing w/ the toys all day... or worse, all three at once! I don't know what ever possessed me to buy that damn Wiggles Guitar *eyes Holli*. If I do manage to get to movie and the CD off for a few minuets, I still have to listen to song clips from the guitar and microphone all the time.
What is it about these guys that tots go nuts for? How many times can a 2 year old be amused by a songs like, "Do the Owl", "Wake Up Jeff", and "Fruit Salad"? I've gone so far into the Wiggles World now that I find myself thinking things like, "It would be cool to plan a party and serve all the things The Wiggles sing about.... fruit salad, crunchy munchy honey cakes, hot potatoes, cold spaghetti..."
Yesterday I actually spent a whole hour researching why Greg (the original yellow Wiggle) had to leave the "band".... I almost joined his fan club. I don't know how I feel about his replacement... just doesn't seem as "cool" as Greg was. I found this tribute to Greg... it made me laugh because of the song they put it to...Yeah, like I said, I'm seriously about to go insane.

I understand completely. Alyssa likes the Wiggles, too, but not as much as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I probably know the lyrics to the songs like the Hot Dog song and "Do The Owl" better than any top 40 song right now. LOL! Seriously, some of these songs actually provide the SOUNDTRACK to my dreams! Ugh!
I know what you mean about a Wiggles party, though. MMmmmm... "Ensalada de fruta fresca!"
See, Laura even knows the songs in Spanish. You are not alone!
At that age for Brian it was "Oobi". It's on Noggin. In case you've never seen it, it is super low budget. Eyeballs on a naked hand. No real puppet. And B has the wonderful skill of memorization on his side.... So when Oobi isn't on. He is reenacting scenes with full dialog.... well as much dialog as you can have with 2-3 word sentences. "Oobi, you, friends!: (Maybe not.) It was a plus for language development. LOL
My kids have outgrown the Wiggles - or so it is for now, my 2 year doesn't watch much tv (thank god). However, I can still hear the words and see the Wiggles singing "Fruit Salad"......
What about Blues Clues, "Find another paw print, that's the second clue
You know Valin was crazy about them too and everyday all he wanted to do was watch, listen and play with the wiggle toys but now it seems it has slowed down to watching the DVDs sometimes and listening to the CDs in the car. So, maybe it will slow down for you too....you hope.
