Ok........I'm not the best cook in the world.  I am especially bad at baking and cooking with flour WHICH is one of the main ingredients in gnocchi.  So, yesterday I couldn't wait until dinner time so I could try the wonderful recipe I got from BflyGina (thank you).

Well, basically I think I learned what NOT to do...lol.   First of all I made waaaaaay too much.  Enough for a party of 40 i think.   #2.  I thought (lololol) it would be a good idea to leave the potatoes a bit chunky for extra potatoy flavor....uh-no, bad idea, lol.   #3. I couldn't figure out how to cut the gnocchi and the first ones I made where gigantic.   When the gnocchi is ready it still looks (at least mine did) white and pasty, sooooo I though I'd leave them in the pot longer than you're supposed to......again-no.  I'm dying laughing at myself by this point.  There is flour EVERYWHERE, by the way, I mean in my hair, it looks like it snowed in my kitchen.   Nick was grilling the chicken and was ready for the plates to be served.  By this time I figured out how to cut the gnocchi and cook them quickly and take them out before they dissolved into a floury blob.  My sauce was excellent.  I am good at making sauces and reductions so at least that was good over my "so called gnocchi".

I am anxious to try it again and again until I get it perfect!  I LOVE gnocchi and when I finally get it they will be a wonderful treat.  Sorry Tatar, I didn't take pictures....duh, I totally should have.  I didn't read your chatter until today.  Thank you all for asking about it!!  It's a great recipe, one of you should try it and let us know your experience with pics!  I'm going to try again next week, heck maybe even tonight, I'm on a mission to gnocchi perfection.....lololol.  Plus OCD runs in my family and I think making ngocchi sparked mine up,lolol.

May. 14, 2008 at 11:19 AM awww I'm sooo sorry it didn't work out the way it was supposed to!!!  I know it's kinda hard to give a recipe especially from "abuela's" time because back in the day there were no exact mesures for things, they kinda eyeballed it and they somehow knew exactly how it was supposed to look , feel and taste! So that may be why some things were off? I see you have another post about them so here I come to check it out! Hope it worked better!!
