Speaking Softly

normaly God speaks to me in soft sutle whispers. gently proding my mind with love, but there are times when He feels the need to speak louder. He does this more when i am not payng attention . which this week i have not been so this is what he said and how He got His point across.
on my way to take my 9 year old to see a dr (she is having issues with the EOG test in school yet another reason to homeschool) here i am wandering were i have gone wrong what do i need to do , this tanker truck caryying cement slowly passes me and on the side of the truck in huge letters i see GRACE . i was a little taken back then i turned my head and i saw a sign for a store it said "FAITH WORKS" by this time I have GRACE on one side and FAITH on the other . OK OK i get it . then my daughter says"momwhy is does that truck have GRACE on it it is an ugly truck" that made me stop. i wanted to say something but the fact is i had nothing to say to hear the messgae was for me. why did an ugly cement truck have GRACE plastered across it well , God is GRACE and HE is the ROCK and GRACE is needed even with the ugly things in life.
i got that message but i know HE was not done with me,last night i needed some time to myself so hubby says well go on and take some i went to Wally world and as i was waiting in line for gas i had on the radio , i have found the neatest station so this is what i hear
God want us to be gracious mothers. HUH? this woman was talking about how mothers needed more grace. she talked about how we begen to be graceful mothers
she gave examples like "the kids are gonna ride thier bikes in the grass the grass will not grow where they do this , and it is ok. she talked about how we as mothers try to be perfect and do all this stuff and that we are not meant to do it alone. she talked about what it can be like. when the guy asked her where does a mother start this behavior and she said the mother does not start it God starts it .she said that at her most worst moment it went something liek this
GOD: my daughter what do you think you can do ?
HER: i might be able to load the dishwasher.
GOD : then my child go load the dishwasher.
after she does this
GOD: no my daughter what do you think you can do?
HER: i can sweep the floor.
GOD: then my child sweep the floor.
i am just amazed how this women put it all togther then she was asked what is the difference between a graceful mother and a passive mother?
she said "when i was groing up my mother never let me sit on the counter it was a sin. we never made a mess either. she said that while she has boundiers in her home she is gentle with her boundiers and her most fav thing is the fact that her 17 year old daughter comes into the kitchen and SITS on the counter and TALKS to her about EVERYTHING she said she is giving her child a gft of grace and that it was the most wonderful thing for her daughter.
yesturday HE spoke to me in ways that i am astounded by.
so today i am asking this Lord help me be a Gracious Mother.

I personallly am not a very religious person but consider myself to be a spiritual one. I do believe that God does speak to us in all kinds of amazing ways if we only take the time to listen. Great post.
