It's a sad mother's day today for a mom in my town.On friday night her 16yr old son was killed in a car accident. My son knew the boy as well as the other two boys in the car.My son called me at 11:45 friday night. He was staying with a friend when they got the news.He went to the accident site and that's where he was calling from. The boys had been removed, but the car was still there. It had been ripped totally in half! They had been doing close to 100mph coming over a hill and hit a tree. The boy killed was in the passenger seat. My son is 17 and just got his lisense,he admitted that just the week before he and his friends had come down the same road and he too was speeding to go over the hills. He said he will never do that again nor will he ever go down that street again.Hard way to learn a lesson.

They held a candle light vigial last night at the site and the dumb ass cops showed up and told everyone they had to leave before they caused another accident!! Quite a few people had some words to say to them! The boy was on the baseball team,so tomorrow afternoon they are having a game in his honor. It's going to be a hard day at school for all students. The boy that was driving is 18 and he is facing charge, some say they had been drinking. He is ok and so is the other boy that was also 16.

My son has been very quite since he came home from his friends house saturday morning. He talked a bit about how they use to talk and horse around in school, but then he got chocked up and walked away.Of course he had me in tears.

So on this mother's day has I think of how my kids are driving me nuts or things aren't going has I think they should be.I think of this mother who will never again have the chance to "fight" with her son.Or wish he would pick up after himself. It makes you realize just how short life can be and to just enjoy every moment you can.
