this mothers day was a real downer.  My two youngest kids brought me gifts form school but one of them got mixed up so it wasn't even what she made me.  My oldest and m y dh just acted like this was no different day.  even though I made a bitg point of shopping for my mother they did nothing.  All my 13 year old cares about is seeing the iron man movie didn't even say happy mothers day.

May. 11, 2008 at 8:36 PM Please forgive me but why do you allow yourself to be treated this way?  It is despicable that your husband allows your children to treat you this way and he is not setting a very good example himself.  You need to talk to him and tell him how you feel.  You have to talk to your children and tell them what your expectations are and how they should respect you as their mother.  How would they feel if you forgot their birthday?  There should be a family meaning of some sort with your husband setting the tone.  He needs to have your back on this issue.  If Mother's Day is not acknowledged - then there should be no Father's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas....  I'm sure your kids will remember next year if you communicate this to them.  Happy Mother's Day and I hope next year is a better one for you!

I'm so sorry! Don't allow yourself to to feel any less then you are...I remember when EVERYONE forgot my 25 birthday.  VERY bad day, yes...NO!  I chose to speak up (afterwards) and it was made up!

You are a WONDERFUL mother, wife, sister!  If I could, I'd evite you over to the dinner I'm cooking.  Let your kids play and you can relax!!!

Blessing to you on this day!

PS....your son in in his teens years so don't be to hard on him...he may just need a gentle reminder.

I'm sorry to hear that! If it makes u feel any better, I got a special dinner, that I had to cook MYSELF! Then, I got to CLEAN the kitchen afterward, bathe everyone, AND set up for tomorrow's school rush too! Yay me! Happy Mother's Day anyway! P.S. Teens don't acknowledge anything that doesn't scream..."FOR THEM!"
