So, I've been having bad migraines again, haven't had this many in a row for about 2 years....turns out it's my lack of sleep and also working in a smoking environment triggers them (eventhough it's not a smoking area, still in the air!)
Anyhoo, so I was at the store picking up my new migraine meds, I HAVE a migraine at this point.
Y'all know I've been having issues with Xander not minding, throwing things and hitting me...so we've really started cracking down on him, especially with toys, b/c time-outs and spankings aren't working!
Okay, so, he was being good, I bought him a sucker on condition he finished his nuggets...he got mad and threw his toy he had, then hit me. He said sorry and then I made him pick up the toy. He still wanted the sucker...not now....he AGAIN hit me and threw his toy (happy meal toy...worth soooo much money!!).
I asked him to pick it up again, he wouldn't. I told him if he didn't, I was going to throw it away. He still refused....so, I picked it up and threw it away. He got mad, started crying and saying he's sorry...too late...he needs to learn to mind the first time. Granted if it was an expensive toy or his fav toy, I would have just taken it away for a week...it's a HAPPY MEAL TOY!!!
Just then, a Grandma aged woman, who I didn't even notice was nearby spoke up having a sad-Grandma look and said, "Oh, why don't you give it to him, he's upset." (yes, that's the idea...) I kindly said no, he's in trouble. she persisted by saying, "It's okay, though, it won't hurt." Yeah, it would if she saw him on a regular basis...believe me, I wanted to give it to him! It would make him stop crying and my head wouldn't hurt as much.
I was a little irritated, but hey, I understand...I've had g-ma's tell me that before, but usually when I tell them, no it's okay, they back off....I just said, "Yes, it will hurt, b/c he's spoiled, and he needs to learn."
So, I walked away, with a screaming child.
I'm at the car, he's calmed down by then...realizing mommy's serious about it. I just got him in the car (not even buckled yet) and the bitch is at my car with the damn toy in hand.
She is insisting that I give him the toy....STILL.
WTF?! SERIOUSLY?!
I was still nice ("nice" at this point is not yelling and swearing at her.). I said, "Excuse me, do NOT tell me how to raise MY child."
She starts yelling at me saying that he needs this five cent toy like it's the end of the world. I keep repeating DO NOT TELL ME HOW TO RAISE MY CHILD.
I told her finally to "Just GO!" she started walking away, and then turns back to argue some-more with me.
I went "holy hell! Will you go?!"
She said, "you shouldn't do this to your son."
"I don't care." (meaning, I don't give a rats ass about what you THINK I should do. I don't listen to my mom, why would I listen to a random woman on the street? I care about teaching my son respect, THAT's why I'm doing this.)
"oh, that's great! You don't care about your son!"
At this point I was ready to let "Fuck You" fly several times....surprisingly I didn't...
"EXCUSE ME??!! That's the reason I'm doing this...DON'T TELL ME HOW TO RAISE MY CHILD! LEAVE, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Finally, she left and headed back into the store with the toy in hand.
So, now my head hurts more...hopefully my meds will kick in soon!
Bitch....
Was I wrong? I don't think so, I think she was butting into my business.....and it wasn't like I was beating him....you know? I threw away a fucking toy!!
sorry, about the swearing, I'm totally venting!!
