Two years ago my daughter was abducted by body snatchers...lol...WELCOME to being a teenager! Really though, she became a person I couldn't even get close to, a door slamming, screaming about everything, stomping, lazy, do nothing for anyone but herself, demanding BRAT, but over the course of the last few weeks there's been a sudden change...I'm kind of scared!
Recently she's started to actually talk (no screaming or demanding) to me and even willing to be involved in the "girl things" that I try to put together for all of us (myself and all 3 girls). Inviting me on walks w/ she and her girlfriend, asking my opinion, and actually helping around the house and with the smaller children...REALLY, IT SCARES THE HELL OUT OF ME! BUT, I'M LOVING IT!
With it being the end of the school year and very little going on at school except for field day and movies in the gym, I decided last week that I would pick a day and allow the girls to "skip" school and take them to the zoo for the day, I'm also going to do the same for the boys...but I don't really have a problem connecting w/ the boys...anyway, much to my surprise my eldest agreed to spend the day w/ me and the younger girls....TOTAL SHOCK! an even bigger SHOCK...we had an awsome day!
My hubby thought I was making a big mistake by allowing my teen to have a friend tag along, saying "Whats the purpose in a "girls" day if she's going to bring a friend, she won't even end up spending the day with you, she'll want to run off with her friend and leave you with the girls" much to our surprise, she stuck right with me and the younger ones, with her friend in tow. We walked, talked, attended some educational things that the zoo offers and actually acted as if we like one another...it was awsome! Which brings me to the question...Is My Daughter BECOMING Human?
For the last couple of years I have wondered if there would ever be a time that I would come to once again "like my daughter", seems that now the time has came and I couldn't be more greatful. For so many years she shut me out and broke my heart and now she actually shows some sign of being the daughter that I love.
It's a true shock to me...so I had to share it!
