Okay, so my last posts have been about breastfeeding/weaning. I finally weaned my daughter at 17 months, and after I did that she would sleep through the night. A week or two after I weaned her though, she kept waking for drinks of water. I would give them to her because I thought she was really thirsty. However, I think she is just used to waking up to drink something (she used to wake up all the time to nurse). Anyhow, she is almost 20 months and still waking at night for drinks. Last night, my DH didn't get very much sleep. I forgot to mention she doesn't sleep in her crib. We put a twin mattress on the floor with rails on the sides in our room because it helped me sleep a little better (I would only have to walk two feet, instead of across the house). I would really love it if she could sleep in her crib. However, there is a catch. She hates her crib. She screams (Note: SCREAMS!), poops, and turns blue if she is in there for longer then 3 mintues. She will not cry herself to sleep. She will either scream for hours if I let her, or she will stand in her crib being completely quiet waiting for me to get her. I am thinking about just rocking her to sleep and placing her in there, but I am afraid she will wake up in the middle of the night and not know where she is. I need some help, please, anyone give me some sort of advice!

Ive also had a few messages telling me to put her in a Toddler bed. I think I may try this out. She's 20 months, so we'll see. My main concern is her falling out the toddler bed. Her room is almost baby proofed, so I will have to work on the rest.

May. 13, 2008 at 9:02 PM My daughter is almost 17 months and we just converted her crib to a toddler bed (it was made to do it) and we babyproofed her room and we just close her door and use the baby moniters! I was also concerned about her falling out of the bed so I just got lots of pillows and put them down so it is a soft landing :) it is nice knowing that if she wakes up she can get out of bed and play with her toys so I can get a few more minutes of sleep.

May. 13, 2008 at 9:58 PM She might just be thirsty. I wake up several times in the night to get a few sips of water. Try moving the crib into your room. I pushed Carter's crib right next to my bed (there is a little gap, in case I kick a blanket against the crib, I don't want him to suffocate on it) so when he wakes up in the middle of the night hungry/wet/ wanting to sleep in my bed I can just reach in and get him. I don't BF though, so I hope that helped.
