Mirena (may have TMI)

I think I have made a bad choice for birth control. I had mirena inserted on 4/11/08 aside from the initial bleeding from insertion. Things went well for 1 week. I have been bleeding ever since. Atleast enough for 2 pantyliners a day. I have heard some people love it and others hate it. I just might be one of those who hate it. I was told it could take 6 months before I stop bleeding. Is it really worth it? I can’t stand it. Should I wait it out or switch to something else. I don’t have to many options bc I’m BF my infant.

That doesn't sound too "bad" really.  Annoying as hell yes but maybe livable?  Maybe it'll stop soon and not go for 6 months.  A month of light bleeding after insertion is a PITA but not unreasonable.

What does your OB/GYN say?

May. 19, 2008 at 3:22 PM when i got mine inserted i had heavey bleeding like that for about a month and then nothing for almost 3 months, now im back to a once amonth regular period. Kinda bummed lol i was hoping to have either no periods or atleast lighter ones but then again they are lighter then before i had my son. I also was having cramping everyday those three months i ddnt have a period and it kinda felt like i was pregnant, i even took a test. But now im fine, i didnt even get any cramps wiht my period this month. It seemed like as soon as i hit that 6 month period it all became back tonormal. HTH
