So, there's this pretty amazing lady who I'll just call ROFLMAO who TAGGED ME and now I must come up with ten, random, goofy, or nutty things about myself.  Since I like lists and I sure do like ROFLMAO, here goes:

1.  Today I wore a shirt my brother in law gave me that is brown and has a yellow screenprint of a Native American Indian wearing a gas mask toting a briefcase.  The shirt says Modern Day Warriors and Native American Rights Fund.  My brother in law rocks.

2.  In about 53 hours I'm going to torture myself by swimming 500 meters, then jumping on a bike and riding for 13 miles, then hopping off and going for a jog of about 3.2 miles.   I'm going to allow people to take pictures of me.  I'm going to wear the shirt I wore when I helped the women carry water in Africa.

3.  I've been to Africa.  I wore the same three dresses for three weeks except for the day I carried water and drilled a well.  My husband wore the same 3 shirts the whole time then gave one of them away.

4.  Except he wasn't my husband yet on that trip, which caused a bit of a fuss, but we were engaged, so that was ok.  We also went to Spain before we got married.

5.  I found out I was pregnant with Andrew three weeks to the day after our wedding day.  I still don't know if Andrew was conceived on our wedding night or five days before.

6.  Once upon a time I was a graduate student writing about ancient Greek art.  I wrote about women depicted in ancient frescoes who wore colorful, flowing skirts and shirts with open bodices so you could see their boobs.

7.  I have never been a bra-burning sort of gal, until now, after nursing 1 baby for a year and the other baby still going strong at almost eight months.   I will definitely be burning the nursing bras.

8.  On the other hand, I am thinking of making a quilt using my old bras, some of which I still have from high school when I had itty bitty beautiful boobs and not the saggy stretch-marked ones I have now.   The evolving state of my boobs, as depicted in textile art.

9.  Right now I'm knitting a pair of socks for my mother.  My mother is the only person who actually wears the socks I make, including me.

10.  My mother sent me a pair of purple rubber flip-flops which have long fuzzy fur yarn crocheted around the thong part, also in purple, and when I wear them around the house I feel like a million bucks.

Jun. 18, 2008 at 8:52 PM How interesting.  Some things I didn't know before, like the purple flip-flops, sent as a joke, are fun to wear.  Designing a quilt using ancient bras would be a very interesting task, would it not?  You're such an amazing, creative, imaginative writer!  Dog2mom
