Growing up, my 3 brothers and I spent all summer in the little creek that fed into the big pond beyond the house. Our favorite spot was known as the "Dead Tree" a big old willow tree with a low hanging limb right over a wallowed out spot just big enough to jump in, play and catch tadpoles, crawldads and splash the heck out of one another! Some of our best times were spent in the pasture field by that Dead Tree!  We went fishing like most kids played tag, every day when the weather was fit. Having a big pond not far from the house was something not every kid had, so we often had friends over to go fishing.  The hardest part about catching fish, was finding worms first or getting your chores done before you were allowed to go!  I still love to fish, I take my son ...dh doesn't have much patience for fishing unless he catches them one right after another, but I think some of the best times fishing...are not really about catching fish....it is the time we spend talking to each other, laughing, being silly, just being together having fun!

I agree, fishing is fun whether you catch fish or not. : )
