Last summer, and the summer before, we went fishing about every other weekend. We won't this summer, but only because Hubby's in Iraq, still. I won't go without him. We get our boat this summer, too, so we're hoping this fall we can go a couple times, and maybe camp out as well, just above the lake.
I really enjoy fishing (as long as someone else is there to do the worms and get the hooks out of the fish.) The kids fish for a while, but they spend more time playing than fishing. It's really calm and relaxing. I love it. I used to go with my Dad all the time.
The kids always beg to go, even though they have to hike a mile into the lake from the road. When we first started going, we had to carry Erin most of the way, but she can walk the whole way herself. The kids are always tapped after, and we usually take a family nap together, all piled on the couch, or if we manage to make it to the bed, our bed. We get up at 4 AM, you see, so we can get to the lake early, since the fish bite better earlier in the morning. It's a long day, but it's soo much fun, and it's great family time.

We go fishing every year at Bass Lake in California...just 20 miles south of Yosemite..After 8 years we still havent caught anything.. My dad lives up there, he has caught a few things, but usually early spring.
