I have always wished I had a different name. My name is synonymous with old ladies and I have always wondered why my parents named me as they did. Oh well, hopefully I'll live long enough to grow into my name.

May. 20, 2008 at 9:13 PM I can't remember wanting to change my name to anything different, but I didn't like my name. Now that people have shortened it to "Kris" I like it. My daughter Brooke is 7 and doesn't like her name. She wants to change it to Bianca.

May. 21, 2008 at 10:24 AM I was the same way when younger. People didn't want to call me Vicki it was always Victoria. I passed on the feeling, both of my girls don't like their names either. What can you do?

May. 21, 2008 at 12:14 PM I never thought about it much.  My name isn't common, but it isn't unusual either.  Don't think you have an old lady name.  They all cycle.  That's what people said when we named our daughter Sadie.  Now we know a bunch of little Sadies.
