A Weekend Getaway

Be the first to comment
I would chose to go to a cabin in the woods near a creek that has mini-waterfalls.  This would have to take place in the late fall when the air is nice and crisp.  I would take jeans, a cashmere sweater, wooly socks, and sandals.  (YEP!  I wear SOCKS with my SANDALS! LOL).  I would cook chili on a wood stove while my DH, DD, and DS and the dog inspect the creek and collect "pretties" to look at under a maginifying glass in the evening.  I would most definately bring a book to read while the chili is cooking.  I just don't know yet, what to read.  I...

Comments (1)
UPDATE:  SIL & Brother lost the baby last night.  :(  Please pray for their healing both her's physically and theirs emotionally.  The good news is that now they will be able to do her surgery/chemotherapy/radiation a lot sooner!  PRAISE GOD!   Update:  SIL has an appointment on Thursday at the cancer center.  The ob/gyn said that if she has to have chemo or radiation, then the baby will die.  I will let you know what happens.... What an awful situation.   Everyone, please PRAY! My brother is 42 and for five years he and his wife...

Celebrating Graduation and Wedding Anniversary

Comments (2)
What a great day!  Right now everyone is asleep in the den-they fell asleep watching TV.  We all spent the day together celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary and my graduation from graduate school.   DH, DS, and DD took me to an early dinner at an Italian restaurant (prices are cheaper if you go before the official dinner time starting at 5:00pm).  Then we went to a new "mall" in the area.  I know-a MALL!!!  LOL!  But, it was an "outdoor mall" that was recently built.  The whole area was built around an old-world European theme with...

A Brand-New-Me 30 Day Challenge

Comments (3)
Hello Ladies and Dearest Friends!  I am starting my very own personal get: healthy, fit, financially stable; focused on God's will, etc. make-over.  In the last few months I have been under a lot of stress and have sought solace in a bag of chips, box of cookies, even eating fast food on a daily basis.  The worst part of this is that I have been hiding most of my bad habits from my DH who works so much that he doesn't even know how much fast food I eat or that I eat dinner twice every night.  Things have to change, so I decided that the change should start with...

Baby girl is here!

Hello!   I am just now able to post about my NEW baby!  Nina Hadassah was born by c-section on Wednesday, Feb 24. She was 8lbs 0.6 oz and is 20.75 inches tall.  She is so dainty!  She is doing great with breastfeeding, I however hate latching on!  But, I can tell that the latch on pain is subsiding if only slightly.  I am recovering well from the c-section, but am still in a lot of pain.  My doctor took a little over an hour to do the c-section due to a lot of scaring from my previous c-section.  He did a great job and even did a little cosmetic...

If I could play a musical instrument...

Comments (1)
I would now chose the cello.  For years I have wanted to learn to play the harp, but after I heard Carlos Prieto play at our local symphony, I have changed my mind.  He was magnificent!  My dh bought up season tickets to the symphony last year for our anniversary so I have just fallen in love with classical music.  The tickets were super cheap!  Since we were first time concert goers we got two season tickets at super discounted rates because we chose to sit in the balcony area towards the side.  I think we paid $65 total for all of the tickets.  The...

Looks like I might be having a C-Section

Comments (6)
I went to my Dr appt today and there isn't any change in my cervix.  Due to my previous c-section they will only try 2 types of inductions, one is pictocin (that didn't work the last time they tried it with ds), and the other was some sort of ointment that goes in the vagina--but not on the cervix.  If neither of those work then they will do the c-section.  I am at peace with this now.  I have been praying to God to ask that either my cervix dialates significantly this week or that at my next visit I get Dr. Vargas again.  She is very pro vaginal birth and if she...

37 Week Dr. Appt

Comments (1)
I am about a fingertip dialated!  WOO HOO!  This is progress and it is more than I did the last time I was pregnant.  I am hoping to VBAC so any progress is good progress.  I am on cloud nine! As for the rest of my life:  DH and DS are both sick again.  sigh.  I hope I don't catch it.  The last time this happened I was sick for five weeks straight.  So far I am doing okay.  My school work is coming along.  I have limited my time on Cafemom so that I could get caught up and hopefully a little ahead.  I have drafted my paper and...

Taking a little break from CafeMom

Comments (1)
I have so much school work to do right now for the next four weeks (plus Baby #2 is due in four weeks also), that I have to stay off cafemom for awhile.  i will post updates weekly of my Dr. Appointments and will try to stop by the groups to say "Hi", but I won't be able to post a lot--at least until I get this paper and midterm done.  If I don't get this class done, and do well in it, then I won't graduate this May!  Take care dear friends!

36 Week Dr. Appointment

Comments (1)
I went to my appointment and it seems like we are still on schedule to have a March baby.  The ultrasound measurements indicate that the baby is approximately 7 pounds 4 oz.  Which means (given the stardard of error) that the baby will be somewhere in the range of 7-9 pounds which is comletely normal.  So far I have not dialated and my cervix has not moved forward yet.  The Dr's exact words wre "your cervix is still in the stratosphere"!  LOL! That sort of makes me nervous since my cervix never moved with Joseph and I didn't dialate at all and ended up with a...
