Motherhood. So far it has been my most favorite life experience. Also the hardest, but so very worth it. It has so many perks... endless smiles, a long list of firsts, sweet moments of love and the sheer awe that is watching my children grow. No matter what the future may hold, right now- I am a very happy person and lucky to be called, Mom.But, there are days... days like today where I feel like running away, quite possibly kicking and screaming along the way. Days where I think the night will never come and my husband may never find his way home from work. Days that draaaaaaaaag on and on...

The great snow storm of DC has been all over the news. It is really cool, because we're living it. :-) Though there are many that have been hit hard and are in dangerous situations (fingers crosses, prayers and good vibes should be sent their way) my family is lucky enough to be in awe and enjoy what we're experiencing. The snow began at our house just at 9:30 am on February 5th. 24 hours later, I fashioned a home made marking stick and stuck it outside of my backdoor. :-) Please note, this is out of my back door- I opened door, inserted stick at arm's length and took picture. No walking...

This morning I woke up, feeling great. For the first time since March, 2008- I wasn't in pain. :-) What a great day it is.Actually, I am still a little sore- you see, I had a hysterectomy one week ago. On New Years. Which also happens to be my birthday. *sigh*But it was totally worth it.Back in February, 08, I begun feeling crampy. An achy crampiness that one normally feels prior to beginning their period. Not full out cramps, just that initial body ache you know its coming grab the chocolate cookies and salted chips kinda feeling. This was, of course, normal. I am female, after all. I...

I often, with a heavy heart, read posts from fellow CMers that complain or vent about rotten husbands, even worse ex's, and men that overall just plain suck. I wish I could hug you all because it isn't fair and I feel terrible knowing that I have it pretty damn good. Every day I am reminded that in life, I have been blessed greatly- not with riches, but with love.My husband and I met in high school. We have been together since we were 17 and too the dismay of many, have never looked back. Why dismay? I've never understood myself. We were young... and we have never really been involved with...

I try to live my life as a good person. Every day, no matter what is going on in the world around me, I try. I also try to raise my children to be good people. To think about the feelings and needs of others before those of themselves. I try to reinforce that happiness is what you make it and not all the things in life that surround us. I teach them to give, to care and to love. These lessons are going to be hard for my children to learn, I know. I know this because often times it is hard for me. It is hard to be nice to people who are cruel, rude and ignorant. It is difficult for me to...

We welcomed my baby boy, Jacob, into the world. His birth was exciting, not because of the adventurous (and crazy) way he decided to enter... but because he was our first little boy. He entered the world with a sister already, and a baby brother followed 22 months later. :-)

You need to check your breasts from puberty until old age. Experts

Stoppard suggests doing it regularly to get thoroughly acquainted with
how your breasts change in appearance and texture throughout your
cycle. Once you are familiar check them once a month, after your period

In order to understand breast cancer, women need to have some basic knowledge as to what is normal in regards to their breasts. Therefore, this post entails a bit of helpful information in understanding the structure and make up of a healthy female breast.
The female breast is made up mainly of lobules (milk-producing glands), ducts (tiny tubes that carry the milk from the lobules to the nipple), and stroma (fatty tissue and connective tissue surrounding the ducts and lobules, blood vessels, and lymphatic vessels) (ACS, 2009).

October is here... and while we are out and about thinking of Halloween and fall leaves, it is also time to be thinking PINK!October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month- look around, you'll find pink everywhere! At this time, grocery stores are filling their shelves with "PINK" products. You'll see the Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon on the packaging- meaning that a percentage of the purchase will be donated to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.I noticed that Yahoo has a ribbon, hmm- and now I notice that
