I'm a Murderer...

Comments (15)
I am about to make a confession. First, let me say that this was not premeditated. In fact, after the last tragedy tragedies, I swore I would never do this again. And, yet, here we are. I have murdered...again. SIGH. My demise starts when my children bring home an innocent new life, planted with so much promise, in hopes of a bright future to fully blossom one day... Sadly, this time I committed mass murder because it was two of my children bearing me gifts; ironically, in celebration of me being a mother. A Shakespearian tragedy in the making... I thought I was doing so well this...

Missing: Have you seen my little girl?

Comments (13)
I swear it was only yesterday that I saw her. Her long blond hair tied up with two pink loopy ribbons in pig tails, her cute pug nose dusted by a sprinkling of freckles, her sweet, high-pitched voice calling out Mommy, the two of us happily living in a fairytale world...and then she just disappeared--poof. I suspect it is my fault she went missing. You see, I broke a cardinal rule of motherhood--never blink. Because if you do, time will go forth at such rapid speed that you can hardly catch your breath. Your little child will change over night--or so it will seem. It...

Do you need a thankful heart? Look here...:)

All of us have moments in life where we feel our mountain is too high to climb. I admit that I have on occasion been known to give myself a personal "pity party"; where I am for some reason the only one in attendence, go figure. Today I wanted to give you a gift: a thankful heart. This is just a reminder, girls, that no matter how high you think your mountain is, there is always someone else with taller peaks to maneuver... For your information, these pictures have not been altered in any way, shape or form...these photographs truly do not do this situation justice!   ...

I have won~MOTHER OF THE YEAR AWARD!

Comments (9)
The votes have been tallied and it is unanimous...I AM MOTHER OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!       Okay, not really. In fact, someone may call soon for my resignation in the role of mother. This morning was like my worst nightmare, heart pounding, screaming, hands clammy and shaking...no matter how hard I tried I couldn't wake up! Sadly, It was *really* my wide awake world that was tumbling down around me and there wasn't a thing I could do except panic and yell. The set up for today actually began yesterday. We had cross country, two soccer practices and a soccer...

Dazed, Dumbfounded and Destroyed

Comments (7)
Today is day one hundred fifty seven of school being back in session. I sit here dazed and dumbfounded...my house is totally destroyed. Do any of you remember the show Lost in Space? Not that I am old enough to have watched the show when it was on, but...Okay, I lie. Anyway, there was a robot aptly named Robot. For most part the robot was friendly, especially to Will Robinson, but every once in a while something would happen and he would go on a mission of destruction; repeating in his robo voice: I-must- destroy-I-must-destroy. I honestly believe my children have those same issues...

It was only a matter of time...

Some things in life are inevitable: taxes, death, less perkiness after nursing six babies... AND SCHOOL CHILDREN RUNNING LATE, LEADING A CRAZED MAMA IN MULTI-COLOR CAT PAJAMAS TO GO OUT IN PUBLIC FRANTICALLY DRIVING HER CHILDREN TO SCHOOL...TRYING HARD NOT TO RUN DOWN THE SUICIDAL SQUIRREL--BOTH GOING--AND COMING HOME...Next time you have a death wish, Mr. Squirrel, please try the poisoned corn and not involve the big purple bus who doesn't have time for this madness! (And, no, I didn't run the stupid thing over, but if there is a next time there are no guarantees!) Well, I knew it was...

The Joy of having Older Sisters...ROFL

Comments (11)
Siblings are fascinating creatures...I don't think anyone can ever fully understand the complicated inner workings of such relationships. In case you don't know me, I have six children; a dd who just turned 14, dd 12, ds 10, ds 8, dd 6 and my baby boy who just turned 4. My children are either the best of friends or worst of enemies. There are times they have me pulling my hair out because they are at each others' throats non-stop. There are other moments though when all is eerily peaceful and I frantically go to do a body count; only to come upon my kids sweetly playing together and my...

For the Love of all that is Holy!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments (24)
I sit here, painfully trying to type. My fingers are in a gnarled mass; deep indentations and blisters cover the surface. Why? For the love of all that is holy-WHY?! Because I have five children that are school age; five children that brought home folders weighing approximately 2 lbs a piece. Those folders contain paperwork that if not filled out immediately by me the end of the world will come about. Okay, maybe I exaggerate slightly, but I am pretty sure that at the very least all the puppies and kittens in the world will perish and chocolate will no longer exist... I have nothing...

Waking the Dead and Other Miracles that Occurred on this First Day of School

Comments (13)
I knew the day was coming. It needed to come for the sake of my sanity. Our summer that once was blissful had suddenly turned into one of those nature shows on TV. The ones where you see the sweet little baby animal frolicking across the field and then along comes a pack of ferocious beasts attacking and tearing into it. You cover your eyes shrieking at the TV screen for the weaker animal to run and save itself, but then are suddenly consumed with a morbid fascination as you continue watching. That is what our household had become; survival of the fittest! Today is the first day of...
